The purpose of spectra denoising is to reduce the effect of noise on finding astrophysical information hidden in spectra. Various denoising approaches exist, in which wavelet transform is important. In this paper, denoising algorithms using wavelet transform is discussed and wavelet packet transform based on minimum risk denoising algorithm is presented. Experimental results show that the method produces precise estimation of spectra.
