Recent research development in mobile ad hoc networks explores new research areas. Address autoconfiguration is one of the essential areas to explore. Address autoconfiguration deals with the initial address assignment as well as the management of address space. Many solutions exist for address autoconfiguration in MANET. In this paper, we propose a group based address autoconfiguration scheme for mobile ad hoc networks.
