Realistic models for node movement are essential in simulating mobile ad hoc networks. We observe that convergence motion occurs frequently in ad hoc networks, and introduce a novel constrained entity mobility model -interest induced mobility model (IIMM) - to represent the interactional relationship among mobile hosts. IIMM can be readily used in simulations of several MANET scenarios. Moreover, we simulate HMM with Random Waypoint and Group Mobility and have evaluated network performance using various protocol independent metrics. As expected, the preliminary results indicate that the various mobility models will affect the performance of Ad Hoc network in different ways.
