This paper proposes an improved channel estimation method based on B. Steiner low cost channel estimator used in TD-SCDMA (time division-synchronous code division multiple access) cellular mobile radio systems known as third-generation mobile system. Our method introduces a threshold filter combining DOA information of adaptive antennas, which can significantly reduce the interference resulting from B. Steiner's channel estimation approach. The simulation demonstrates that the exploitation of threshold filter with the knowledge of the direction can lead to significant system performance enhancement by 3.5 dB.
