According to the increasing competition, companies are moving towards cooperative relationships in an effort to make the supply chain as a whole more competitive. But, currently most logistics information system aims to optimize an enterprise's logistics management. It leads to be unable fully obtaining the competitive advantage which the modern logistics brings. The purpose of this paper is to explore the use of soft-agent to construct SCM-wide LIS. Through analyzing characteristics of cooperative LIS and its three kinds of cooperative requirements, it is considered as a cooperative and distributed system. Two questions are distinguished in building cooperative LIS, about cooperative processing and heterogeneous functional components integrating. Then, architecture of LIS based on multi-agent system is proposed. At last, an example is used to illuminate its cooperative processing flow and indicate the MA-LIS can realize cooperative processing in SCM-wide.
