The EAGLES Project is creating a computinig system and interactive environment for scientific applications using object-oriented software principles. This software concept, leads to well defined data interfaces for integrating experiment control with acquisition and analysis codes. Tools for building object-oriented systems for user interfaces and codes are discussed. Also the terms of object-oriented programming are introduced and later defined in the appendix. These terms include objects, methods, messages, encapsulation and inheritance.
