This paper proposes a voltage source inductive coupled power transfer (ICPT) system, develops an electromagnetic coupling model based on mutual induction model, and analyzes this system on power transfer ability and system stability based on zero phase angle resonant (ZPAR) control method. Then it presents the suitable operating frequency to minimize the VA rating of power transfer and the stability boundary about equivalent load to prevent system operating in bifurcation condition. These are verified by simulation with MATLAB.
