Collaborative virtual enterprise (CVE) is a new paradigm for industry and it imposes significant challenges on effective operation. In this paper, we address the dynamic integration by leveraging the emerging Semantic Web services technologies. An integration architecture is introduced first for constructing a semantic-rich service-oriented CVE. A semantic-driven services composer based on the forward-chaining algorithm is then presented and implemented to realize dynamic integration. Its successful application in a prototyped enterprise manufacturing system further exemplifies the practicality of semantic web service technologies in supporting collaborative virtual enterprises.
