This paper presents a fuzzy based mixed H2/Hinfin control for model following applications in nonlinear dynamic systems. Using parallel distributed compensation techniques, a fuzzy controller is developed to achieve suboptimal H2 control performance with a guaranteed Hinfin model reference tracking performance. An optimization problem -subjected to two bilinear matrix inequality constraints-is formulated as the outcome of the mixed H2/Hinfin model following fuzzy based control. The resulting BMIs, are transformed into pure LMI programs for which efficient optimization techniques are available. Finally, a simulation example is introduced to illustrate the validity and applicability of the given approach.
