This paper focuses on complications related to the introduction of IPv6 into conversational services architectures. This paper identifies, first, complications encountered when enabling such critical services upon IPv6 infrastructures; second, it sketches a set of migration scenarios that take into account operational service providers requirements and elaborates on some enhancements to be supported. Experimentation results are also provided to illustrate how call routing may be optimized so as to minimize the invocation of ALG and NAT-PT functions.
