A short GRIN-rod is coupled to a 1.5 ¿m InGaAsP DFB laser to achieve a linewidth reduction from 34 MHz to 1.5 MHz at 2.5 mW. Characteristics of linewidth narrowing with respect to the displacement of the GRIN-rod, the laser temperature and the driving current are presented.
