It is demonstrated how a thin-film low-impedance Josephson junction can be matched in a rectangular waveguide at 9 GHz, thus reducing the necessary power in voltage standard applications by a factor of 250. The method is also applicable to higher frequencies and to microwave devices such as detectors and mixers.
