This paper presents a new flux-correction method to represent magnetic saturation in classical qd machine model. By introducing new variables and reforming the saturation functions explicitly, the iterative solution of nonlinear equations is avoided. Compared with existing methods, which utilize the saturated mutual inductances in the machine state equations, the proposed method is simple and does not require calculation of the derivatives of the saturated mutual inductances. The accuracy and efficiency of the proposed method is demonstrated on a typical salient-pole synchronous-machine.
