A new class of augmented Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional is introduced for the robust stability of linear uncertain neutral systems. The uncertainties under consideration are norm bounded. Delay-dependent robust stability criteria in the form of linear-matrix inequalities are derived and model transformation and bounding of the cross terms are avoided. Numerical examples are presented to illustrate the significant improvement on the conservativeness of the delay bound over some reported results in the literature
