Overlay multicast is expected to provide a realistic solution to the end-to-end multicast services before IP multicast is deployed all over the network. However, existing overlay multicast protocols are not standardized and many restrictions occur to provide many-to-many multicast services. This paper addresses the design and implementation of overlay multicast protocol for many to many multicast services.
