As home videotape recorders have come into wide use, a need for a reduction in the size, weight, and power consumption of color video cameras has become obvious. This need can be met using a solid-state imager such as a CCD, but only if at the same time system ICs are used for the circuits. For this purpose signal-processing ICs for a single-chip CCD color camera have been developed. The signal- processing method and the structure of the ICs will be reported.
