This paper proposes a new polyphonic sound generator LSI IC. The main features of the device are described, including eighth-order polyphonicity, integration of software-programmable ADSR envelope generators and direct microcomputer interfacing. By means of the presented IC, a wide range of polyphonic instruments can be easily synthesized. Finally, different system configurations are presented.
