The resource-limited embedded devices such as a wearable computer use battery power and have limited system resource. The software for these systems must be developed as dynamically reconfigurable component-based system to save the memory space. In this study, we design and implement the ANSI C-language-based, lightweight component framework that can dynamically install software components and reconfigure the system according to the requirement of application programs. The component manager which is the core of the component framework is only 23-Kbyte long. Therefore, the implemented component framework reduces the overall resource requirement and making it suitable for a resource-limited embedded system
