The performance of line current differential protection algorithms during current transformer (CT) saturation is analysed. The study covers popularly used algorithms and presents their degree of immunity to CT saturation. The degree of error in phasor measurement due to CT saturation is estimated through simulation studies and this information is used to decide the CT dimensioning for the relay
