A procedure for coupling electromagnetic field simulation together with circuit and system simulation is presented. The procedure employs automatic adaptive mesh generation to make the electromagnetic analysis transparent to the user. It uses model order reduction to generate circuit models that are accurate across a broadband. And it employs a solver-on-demand technology by which the appropriate level is simulation is invoked in any given situation. The combination of electromagnetic, circuit and system level simulation provides accurate virtual prototypes and thus makes engineers more productive.
