Impairment-Constraint-Based Routing in Ultralong-Haul Optical Networks With 2R Regeneration

This letter presents a novel impairment-constraint-based routing scheme in a network with 2R regeneration. A wide variety of physical layer impairments, linear and nonlinear, have been considered and appropriate modeling has been developed to reflect their interplay with the 2R functionality and to assess the overall system performance.
