After analyzing the state of research on voltage source converter (VSC) based HVDC (VSC-HVDC) and its operation principle, this paper derives its dynamic model according to the switching function model. Based on the dynamic model and instantaneous power theory, a strategy for respective power control is deduced and controllers are designed using predictive current control. Here, predictive control is used to calculate the load voltage to optimize the current behavior. Then, the desired voltage is generated using space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM). With an active network of constant DC line voltage control - respective transmission power control, the dynamic model and control strategy are validated by simulation on software MATLAB/SIMULINK.
