On the Problem of Transformer Overheating Due to Geomagnetically Induced Currents

This paper concerns experimental results for a laboratory transformer with simultaneous ac and dc excitation, the objective being to determine whether or not geomagnetically induced currents(GIC) would cause overheating in a power transformer.
