This paper analyzes the control requirements of wind turbine generators connected to electric power systems. The requirements are based on stand-alone as well as interconnected operation. Control systems are developed for wind turbines with synchronous, induction, and doubly-fed generators. Results of detailed, non-linear time response simulation are presented.
