Development of a Mathematical Model to Estimate Ice Loading on Transmission Lines by Use of General Climatological Data

As part of the task of estimating design loadings for transmission lines, it is desirable to know long time series of independant extreme loadings. The requirements to these series are such that they cannot practically be met-as far as ice loadings are concerned-if one has to rely on direct measurements of the loadings.
