This article is sequential to the one which was presented at the Sixth International Symposium on Cable Dynamics in Charleston, SC in 2005. This article is based on the same solution and considers three additional issues: phase relationship between the displacement (shift) of the cable during vibrations and the disturbing force, the generalization of the problem for the case when the peak value of the disturbing force depends on the vibration amplitude, and dampening cable vibration with short fairing element
