Signal analysis for long-range passive RF identification (RFID) readers operating in the 915-MHz is described in the paper, in accordance with it, a set of design criteria is derived, focusing in particular on the technique of carrier leakage suppression in receiver. The paper discusses the design tradeoffs in reader design, and proposes a method to suppress carrier leakage with variable feedback at the reader receiver
