Error-Tolerant Image Coding for Underwater Acoustic Transmissions

In order to achieve the image transmission through a shallow underwater acoustical channel, an efficient error-resilient still image compression algorithm is proposed. Lower signal-to-noise ratio and strongly fast varying multi-path interference introduce higher error bit rate.
