Band-stop and band-pass filters made by spatially modulating the width of the centre conductor of a triplate strip transmission line are reported. Two of the filters reported possess stop bands centred on 4 and 6 GHz respectively. A bandpass filter has also been formed by a spatial superposition of the two band-stop filter patterns. The measured performance show good agreement when compared with results predicted using coupled mode theory
