A new method for direction-of-arrival (DoA) estimation based on the reactance-domain (RD) estimation of signal parameters via rotational invariance techniques (ESPRIT) and using a subarray configuration selection technique is proposed for full azimuthal estimation of several impinging signals with a single-output smart electronically steerable parasitic array radiator (ESPAR antenna). The proposed method performance superiority over the previously presented RD-ESPRIT algorithm, could be demonstrated by means of computer simulations that involved one, two and three signal DoAs' estimation in the full azimuth plane
