A senior level elective course covering topics in electronic music synthesis was offered in the winter of 1992 in the department of Electrical Engineering at Lawrence Technological University. This course explored techniques which enable musicians and engineers to conceive of and realize musical ideas. The course focused on four areas: the physics of music, music hardware, the musical instrument digital interface (MIDI), and research topics in music synthesis
