The Detection of a Sine Wave in the Presence of Noise by the Use of a Nonlinear Filter

This paper reviews the basic theory of the design of nonlinear filters to detect signals in the presence of noise or clutter. It then describes the exact manner of how a nonlinear filter may be instrumented to detect the presence of a sine wave of unknown frequency in random noise.
