A new d.c gas discharge panel for the development of a gas discharge display tank to display the 3-D image is proposed. A system providing 3-D image pick-up, transmission and display is described. Gas discharge display miatrices containing phosphors producing different colors needed for the display of color TV image are also described for their suitability to form a display tank. The unique advantage of the transparency offered by the cormercially available "Digivue" display panels is exploited for constructing a display tank for the reproduction of 3-D images. Also, incandescent displays and liquid vapour devices are examined for the fabrication of display matrix and tank. Finally, a comparison is made of the various types of displays considered in this paper.
