Two monolithic integrated circuits1 comprise a versatile, low cost remote control system with radio frequency carrier. Capable of two channels of analog and two channels of digital control by the use of a pulse code modulation technique, the IC's employ unique circuit concepts to simplify system design and reduce external parts count. This paper describes the system and circuit concepts behind the new remote control chip set.
