This paper developed a three-step process of projection, characteristics, and knowledge for color object identification and moving object capture. Four factors of shape, color, size and knowledge have been considered in the process from the view of human vision system. A simulated experiment has shown how efficient and effective the proposed method is in which a color object had been identified and recognized in a complicated environment. A real visual servo control system has also been developed based on the proposed process. The experiment results have shown that the proposed method could efficiently realize the real-time color object recognition and capture
