With the increasingly complexity about software systems and diversity about devices, it is important to take into account the device and users' preferences in user interface (UI) design. However, there are two requirements needs to be met. Fist, UI should be built quickly. Second, various contexts for UI should be adjusted automatically and immediately. In this paper, the UI design pattern (UIDP) is introduced into the adaptive UI design. The agile and flexible user interface is proposed according as the UIDP library and intelligent agent. When the user performs normal interaction operations, the intelligent agent captures the various information contained the device information and user preferences to build the corresponding knowledge database. According as the UIDP recognized, the adaptive presentation searches the relative UIDP in UIDPs and executes the adjustment for UI automatically. Finally, the implementation and case are described for the system
