In this work the extraction of information from radar images of aircraft is described. In particular some techniques such as the Hough Transform, the correlation with aircraft's template, the method of moments, are examined. The aim of application is to determine the orientation and the position of aircraft in surface movement guidance and control applications. This information is important to design the safety logic functions in order to detect runway incursions and other dangerous ground movements
