The authors present an architecture for integrated management of all resources in a networked system. Looking at the OSI (Open Systems Interconnection) Management Framework, the need for a distributed management information mode is identified which incorporates management activity. The architecture is then presented in terms of a management model, structuring principles for management systems, and the description of a federated object-oriented system specially suited for the management system's realization
