It is shown that motion compensation of radar imagery based on entropy reduction can be optimized by selecting an exponential gain function. Use of this function guarantees a stable convexity of the entropy surface for low SNR, a rapid determination of the entropy minimum, and accurate motion parameter estimation.<>
