The author proposes a control approach based on bag theory for control of concurrent DEDSs (discrete event dynamic systems) modeled by Petri nets. This approach includes the previous control mechanisms of Petri nets as a special case, and can be considered as a direct extension of the work of P.J. Ramadge and W.M. Wonham (1987, 1989). As a result, many results established within the framework of Ramage and Wonham can be generalized to the supervisory control of concurrent DEDSs
