Investigates a model to provide performance management information at a broadband network termination (B-NT) system. We especially study the operational measurement issues needed to provide the performance monitoring capability of the broadband network elements at the asynchronous transfer mode user-network interface (ATM UNI). First, we review the concept of a telecommunication management model applied to the ATM network. Then we study the B-ISDN management service and functions, especially the performance monitoring and control functions. Finally, we suggest an information model of the performance monitoring functions in the B-NT system
