Visualization of experimental data at the Naval Research Laboratory

The role of scientific visualization in understanding experimental data sets is examined. The difficulty in extracting parameters of interest from the measurements is described for five diverse application areas: physical oceanography, electronic warfare, molecular modeling, underwater acoustics, and synthetic-aperture radar. The role of digital imaging and signal processing is noted.<
