Addresses the problem of migration for transputer-based architectures. Migration dynamically changes the allocation of the system and it can balance resource usage during execution. In the case of transputer-based architectures, the locality of the policies is essential for efficiency and scalability. This paper presents and evaluates three local migration policies, with different degrees of coordination among the nodes. The main result is that good load balancing can be achieved by enlarging the scope of the policies, while maintaining a local perspective. The performance evaluation of the policies is done by introducing indicators that measure the quality of the implemented policies
