This paper proposes a design method to obtain robust performance in the control of linear systems with uncertainty. This is achieved by judicious use of a particular parameterization for both the controller and the uncertainty. The robustness requirement is introduced in the form of a quadratic constraint in the frequency domain. The final design is then carried out subject to this constraint and uses quadratic optimization
