Magnetic hysteresis of mixtures of hematite (α-Fe2O3) and magnetite (Fe3O4) particles dispersed in diamagnetic NaCl are examined. Introducing a residual hysteresis curve it is shown that the overall hysteresis loop of bi-mineral mixture does not represent a simple sum of contributions corresponding to individual components, but is affected by interactions between magnetite and hematite grains
