A frequency-division-multiplexed optical switching system is demonstrated with 5 Gbit/s data in 16 channels. The frequency spacing of each channel is 100 GHz. A superstructure-grating distributed-Bragg-reflector laser and an arrayed-waveguide grating multiplexer are, respectively, used as the tunable light source and the optical router
