Concerns the analysis of electromagnetic scattering and radiation by obstacles and antennas of arbitrary shape residing in complex environments. By a `complex environment' one means an environment different from free space, but `simple' enough to permit the separation of the Helmholtz equation. Examples of such environments include the infinite cylinder or wedge, the sphere, the cylindrical or rectangular waveguide or cavity, the dielectric half-space, and a few others. The authors focus attention on two-dimensional, perfectly conducting (PEC) surfaces (open or closed) of otherwise arbitrary shape, in the presence of an infinite circular cylinder or wedge, which are also assumed to be PEC.
