A radix-2 FFT-pipeline architecture has been developed which exhibits a two- to three-bit increase in accuracy for transform lengths N greater than 210 if fixed-point arithmetic is utilised. The algorithm in use is a unification of the Cooley-Tukey radix-4 and radix-4+2 decompositions
