A mode pushing technique has been developed to accelerate the convergence of stiff modes in the numerical solution of a two-dimensional coercivity problem. The approach is applied to a domain wall which is described by a line that is pinned at two points. The mode pushing process consists of a translational as well as bending transformation of the domain wall in an iterative process until a stationary solution is obtained. This technique is found to greatly enhance the convergence of the solution by several orders of magnitude
