For suitability to carry out a comparative study of discrete linear basis transforms, a parametric class of these transforms is considered. It is shown that under certain conditions on the parameters, every member of this class is superior to the Walsh-Hadamard transform for first-order stationary Markov process. For high correlation of this process, the class is proved to be inferior to the slant transform. A lower bound of the performance of this class is also found
